Agreement

These Terms govern your use of Sankofa OS — the Sankofa Cloud service at app.sankofa.dev and the software available under our open-core license. By creating an account or running the software, you agree to them. If you're accepting on behalf of a company, you confirm you're authorized to bind it.

Your account

You're responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping credentials secure. You must be at least 16 (or the age of digital consent in your jurisdiction) and provide accurate information. Notify us at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access.

The open-core license

The core platform — wire contract, SDKs, dashboard, and every product — is open source and self-hostable under the license published in our repositories at github.com/Sankofa-HQ. Commercial (Enterprise) modules and Sankofa Cloud are provided under these Terms. Nothing here restricts rights you already have under the open-source license.

Acceptable use

Don't use Sankofa to break the law, infringe others' rights, send unsolicited messaging, attempt to breach or overload the service, or resell it as a competing hosted product without a partnership agreement. You are the data controller for telemetry your applications send us; you're responsible for having a lawful basis and appropriate consent for it.

Billing

Paid plans bill in advance per the cadence you choose (monthly, quarterly, six-month, or annual), and renew automatically until cancelled. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice; changes take effect at your next renewal. You're responsible for applicable taxes.

Free tier and fair use

Every product has a free tier subject to the published limits. We may apply reasonable technical limits to protect the service. Sustained abuse of the free tier — or attempts to evade limits across accounts — may result in throttling or suspension.

Uptime

Sankofa Cloud targets high availability; the Enterprise tier carries a contractual SLA with service credits, detailed in your order form. Free and self-serve tiers are provided on a commercially reasonable-effort basis without an SLA. Self-hosted deployments run on your own infrastructure and availability is your responsibility.

Your data

You own your data. We process it as a data processor on your behalf, per our Privacy page and Data Processing Agreement. On termination you can export your data; after the retention window it is deleted per the Privacy page. We do not train models on your data without an explicit opt-in.

Warranties and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties beyond those that cannot be excluded by law. To the maximum extent permitted, Sankofa's aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before the claim, and neither party is liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Termination

You can cancel any time in billing settings; access continues through the paid period. We may suspend or terminate for material breach of these Terms, non-payment, or unlawful use, with notice where practicable. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (data, liability, license) do.

Changes and contact

We may update these Terms; material changes are announced with 30 days' notice. Continued use after they take effect means you accept them. Questions: [email protected].
